We begin this chapter with a story I’m not allowed to tell you about as I was, and probably still am, bound by confidentiality [not any more]. Please, therefore, keep what follows under your hat.

It was the one and only time I have been asked to be an expert witness in a litigation; it happened to relate to the US market. I don’t wish to be perceived a braggart, but I must admit the pharmaceutical supply chain is something I know quite a bit about. A lawyer friend of mine in the UK recommended me to his US counterparts as someone competent to carry out the task.
