Everyone has their own scale as a point of reference and if something happens that is off the scale, the simply cannot comprehend it and in order to cope they recalibrate to the new scale that has been presented to them. Once that has happened, you can make them accept things that would've been totally ridiculous when matched against the old scale.
Indeed David. What is missing is that the majority of people have a decent idea of how sport works and the importance of sticking to the rules. With COVID, they pretended there we no rules, even though they have been in place for 60+ years. Shocking!!!
