Because it was parroted by someone they trusted: their GP. And amplified by sources they trusted: mainstream media.

Most people took to heart the signal when they came out of the womb when the doctor spanked them. The doctor did that to tell the newborn to listen to me or you'll get more of that. Seems to keep working well into old age.

My favorite has always been from Voltaire: Doctors give drugs of which they know little,

into bodies, of which they know less, for diseases of which they know nothing at all.

Fear was the main driver. The PCR test, masks and TV were the tools used to create fear. We couldn’t send our kids to school, had to stand 6 feet apart and couldn’t enter a business without a mask. Completely ridiculous but it scared the living daylights out of people. Everyday TV, doctor's were pushing PCR testing and telling folks if they were positive they had a deadly respiratory virus.

I think people fell for this because they genuinely were fearful about succumbing to a deadly virus when in fact all that was floating around was the seasonal flu. Threats of job loss if folks would not take the jab was another key driver in vaccine uptake.

I don’t think the world has ever experienced a pharmaceutical campaign such as this one. They are accustomed to seeing adds on TV but nothing close to the fear campaign pharma launched to promote the C19 injections.

The clip from John Oliver is very funny by the way!

I think we really WANT people we can trust, and building trust is a good thing, but not when the desire to trust doctors or whomever overrides critical thinking and we accept propaganda as real, with little question. It does take a certain reliance on self to downgrade the believability of others.

I have always felt that trust is earned, not a given, and it has served me well. It started when I was 9. I excitedly showed a newspaper column to my father, a photojournalist, and he simply said, "Don't believe everything you read, son."

Yes gusman - it was of nuclear proportions - the only good thing to come out of it, if you can call it good, is that now most of the world knows the extent of corruption in the media, big pharma, Politians etc, etc
